Remote consulting for Canada

Remote IT & Cybersecurity Consulting for Canadian Businesses

Independent IT infrastructure, cybersecurity and Microsoft 365 consulting for Canadian small and mid-sized businesses, delivered remotely.

15+ years in enterprise IT · Delivered remotely · Written scope before work starts · Direct access to the consultant

Why businesses in Canada ask for this

Canadian private-sector organisations generally handle personal information under PIPEDA, with provincial laws in some provinces (for example Quebec's Law 25, and Alberta and British Columbia's PIPA). The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security publishes baseline cyber security controls for small and medium organisations, which many businesses use as a practical checklist.

Services here are advisory technical reviews, not legal advice, certification or an audit opinion.

Who we work with

Canadian small and mid-sized businesses, professional-service firms and technology companies that want a senior independent view of their IT and security without hiring full time.

How remote delivery works for Canada

Delivery is remote and there is no Canadian office. Weekday consultations at 14:00–22:00 IST correspond to roughly 04:30–12:30 Eastern in summer (03:30–11:30 in winter), and 01:30–09:30 Pacific. Eastern-time clients get morning calls; Pacific and Mountain clients usually use early-morning calls plus written updates.

Questions from businesses in Canada

Can you meet during Canadian business hours?

Partly. Weekday calls at 14:00–22:00 IST fall in the Canadian morning in Eastern time and very early morning in Pacific time. Written updates cover the rest.

Do you advise on Quebec Law 25 or PIPEDA?

No, those are legal questions. Technical reviews look at the controls around personal data, such as access, sharing and backups, which a legal adviser can then assess.

Do you have a Canadian presence?

No. Consulting is delivered remotely; there is no Canadian office, staff or customers to reference.

Can you help a small Canadian business with cybersecurity?

Yes, with practical reviews of accounts and MFA, email protection, patching and backups, and a short prioritised list. It is advisory and not a penetration test, certification or legal opinion.

How is an independent consultant different from an MSP?

A consultant works on defined assessments and projects and reports to you directly. An MSP runs support day to day under contract. Some Canadian businesses bring in a consultant to check that what their provider does matches what they need.
